Sambar Rice is my favorite of all time. I made it at least twice a month. Today I thought of making Sambar rice, but I thought of using a warehouse lying in the refrigerator for a long time to make it. The result is fantastic, it’s fragrant and delicious, I never miss my rice. It feels exactly like my normal rice.

Why do I like this recipe – I often make this dish because of cooking quickly in a pressure cooker which makes it perfect for busy days. This is good for lunch box too. This is a good dish for preparation for eating. Stay fresh for hours, which makes it ideal for lunch boxes and travel foods.

Bardard Millet / Partira: These are healthy and gluten -free grains that are rich in fiber and minerals. It makes a mild dish and gives a basis for filling for dishes.

Moong Dal: The typical ingredients used in sambar and sambar rice.

Vegetables (Potatoes, carrots, raw bananas, cucumbers, snake pumpkins, brinter): This colorful mixture of vegetables gives a lightweight sweet taste to the dish. These vegetables add nutrients, fiber, and texture to Sambar rice.

Base: Onions, tomatoes, chili form a base for sambar rice.

From my personal experience

  • Soak the millet and dal together. This reduces cooking time and ensures softness.
  • Use hot water for cooking. This helps Millet cook faster and provide a softer texture.
  • Bake the millet light. Dry roast before cooking increases taste and prevents stiffness.
  • Cook layered vegetables. Add hard vegetables like carrots first and softer like brinjal later for perfect maturity.
  • Add acid at the end. This prevents lentils from turning hard and keeps the pliers fresh.

Step by step

You need 1 cup of Millet Kuthiraiviali / Barn Yard
Wash well and soak in water
Now take ½ cup of yellow dal moung in a bowl
Wash well and soak
Now take your other ingredients
I use a mixture of potatoes, snake pumpkins, cucumbers, raw bananas, carrots
Now heat the oil in press, press .. add to mustard, cumin and chili
Add some asafoetide
And some curry leaves
Add onions, tomatoes and green chili
Sauteed them for a few minutes
Add a little salt
Add chili, coriander and turmeric powder
stir well
Add chopped vegetables
Stir well on the spices.
Add acid porridge
and water
stir well
I added a little sugar to balance fatigue and chaos
Add Moongdal
and warehouse millet
stir well
Scratch to boil..simmer and cook closed for 1
whistle or for 10 minutes
